About Me
In the beginning days I was inspired by my father who was a sign board artist. Since I was keen on art I used to accompany my father on his work. After my SSLC, my father had enrolled me in art summer camp. As my pastime turned into passion, I joined for pursuing bachelors in art at Kalamandir School of Arts and masters in painting from College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. Soon after my post-graduation, I set out to pursue my practice as well as working in a firm as concept artist. I have been part of various group and solo shows in Bangalore.
As I moved on from degree to masters, my works encountered various changes from skilled to conceptual art works. My medium of expression varies from painting, collage to video projections. My creative urge is by and large leaned towards my experiences in childhood, my perspectives on sociopolitical and cultural issues in my immediate surroundings. My work address perspectives on how certain cultural dogmas indicate sexism and that take to violence on women and their freedom of expression and basic rights. I have also inculcated the perspective of media reports of such violence in to this series of works. Later on I worked on series related to religion, its various avatars and its global impact. Besides these, I have been a keen practitioner of photography and graphic designing.
